Developments (2003 ~ 2006) On March 22, 2002, representatives of the four associations met in Hartford, USA, to explore the feasibility of and steps necessary for this global gathering. They later secured approval from their respective boards and members. They met again in Paris, France, on December 9, 2002, to become officially joint organizers and to create the Organization Committee, charged with overseeing the conference. Members of the Organization Committee met in Denver, USA, during 2003 ARIA meeting. They finalized members for the Scientific Committee, responsible mainly for reviewing proposals and creating conference program contents. Members of the Organization Committee met in Paris, France. They finalized the Call for Papers, formulated the general format of the Conference Program, and discussed how to make this event viewed valuable by every participant. They also agreed on offering Financial Travel Aid to qualified participants.
After the first meeting, all societies agreed to have the event every five years. They have created 2010 Organization Committee in 2006 as a stepping stone for the 2010 conference in Paris. |
